As many of you may know back in 2005 I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus and over the last 12 years have many ups and downs. Lupus research is close to my heart because as a patient from day to day you are not sure what will be affected.
In 2015, I had to have my daughter 5 weeks early because the lupus attacked my placenta and I almost lost my miracle baby at 8 months.
At the ripe age of 32, I have suffered two strokes because my blood is being attacked, I have arthritis in most if not all of my joints, my elbows lock most of the time in the bent position, I have extreme fatigue which affects my day to day functions and right now doctors are trying to determine what is causing all my lymph nodes to be enlarged throughout my body. This is just a minor glimpse into how I am affected and everyone is affected differently.
I fight for my daughter, my family, my friends and most of all my life. Any amount can help gives you an idea of what is funded by the donations. Please note that 100% of the proceeds go to Lupus research.
For every $100 raised: A computer chip that can analyze the genetic material of Lupus patients can be purchased.
For every $500 raised: A lab can be supplied with DNA kits for research application and analysis.
For every $1000 raised: Technology to effectively profile almost 10k proteins to study how auto-antigens affect inflammation.
