Lidl opened this Friday, the 7th, two new stores in the Central region of Portugal, located in Anadia and Porto de Mós, in a total investment of 14.6 million euros.
In a statement, it highlights that this expansion reflects the company’s strategy of modernizing its facilities and improving customers’ shopping experience, while contributing to the local economy through the creation of new jobs.
The new Anadia store replaces an old space opened in 2000 and features a sales area expanded by more than 500 m², totaling 1,580 m².
In turn, the Porto de Mós store also replaces an old unit in Batalha, increasing its sales area to 1,585 m², an increase of more than 700 m².
Both stores were designed with a modern and sustainable concept, including glass facades, LED lighting and spacious corridors that facilitate circulation, the document highlights.
Each store has around 100 parking spaces, as well as fast electric charging stations to facilitate quick purchases, highlights Lidl in the same note.
According to the company, the new facilities were developed with high energy efficiency standards, incorporating LED lighting and solar panels. The area surrounding the stores also underwent renovations, including improvements to sidewalks and public transport shelters.
Lidl Portugal also reaffirms its commitment to creating value, maintaining the replaced store teams and reinforcing them with new hires. According to the retailer, the Anadia store now has 20 employees, including three new hires, while the Porto de Mós store employs 26 employees, of which six are new acquisitions.
